⚠️ Still on Windows 10? Read This. ⚠️

Last year we warned that support for Windows 10 was ending on October 14, 2025. That date has now passed — a Windows 10 computer no longer gets regular security updates, which makes it an easier target every month.

    Your options:
✅ Check if your PC can upgrade to Windows 11 for free (Settings → Windows Update)
✅ If it can’t upgrade, ask about Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates before relying on it for banking, email, or business
✅ Back up your files either way — photos, documents, everything you can’t replace

Don’t run your business or your banking on an unprotected computer.

  • Protect Your Accounts in 2 Steps — Turn On 2FA

🔐 Protect Your Accounts in 2 Steps! 🔐

Worried about hackers getting into your social media or email? Fix it today with 2FA (two-factor authentication) — your digital security BFF!

1️⃣ Open your account settings → Security → Two-factor authentication
2️⃣ Choose an authenticator app if you can — it’s stronger than text codes
3️⃣ Save your backup codes somewhere safe, offline

Even if someone steals your password, 2FA keeps them locked out. Turn it on for email first — your email is the key to resetting everything else.

  • Don’t Take the Bait — Spot Phishing in 10 Seconds

    🚨 Don’t Take the Bait — Spot Phishing in 10 Seconds 🚨

Before you click any link in an email or text, check 3 things:

1️⃣ The sender — does the address really match the company? One changed letter is a fake.
2️⃣ The rush — “Your account will be closed TODAY!” Real companies don’t threaten you by text.
3️⃣ The link — hover (or press and hold) before you tap. If the address looks strange, don’t open it.

When in doubt: don’t click. Go to the company’s real app or website yourself and check there.

Hackers don’t need to break in when they can trick you into opening the door yourself. At Cyber By The Book, we’re here to help you outsmart the scammers.

  • Tip of the Day: Passwords — LONG, UNIQUE, Never Reused

🌐 Cyber By The Book Tip of the Day! 🔐

Your password rule for 2026 is simple: LONG, UNIQUE, and never reused.

✅ Use a passphrase — 4 random words are stronger than a short, messy password
✅ Never reuse the same password on two sites — one breach opens every door
✅ Use a password manager so you only have to remember one master password
✅ Turn on 2FA everywhere it is offered (see our next tip!)
❌ Don’t use your name, birthday, team, or “Password123” — hackers try those first

One account, one password. That’s how you stay protected.
